Fping

Ping is one of the most useful network debugging tools available. The first ping program was written by Mike Muuss in December 1983 for use on Unix machines. Muuss named his program after the sonar sounds used for echolocation by submarines, although some say ping stands for "Packet InterNet Grouper". Ping sends a small packet of information containing an ICMP ECHO_REQUEST to a specified computer, which then sends an ECHO_REPLY packet in return. The ping program then evaluates this reply, and a report is shown. You can check several things with the ping program: can you reach another computer, how long does it take to bounce a packet off of another site (what is the distance), ... You can ping either a domain name, or an IP address. Functionality to show domain names when using IP addresses is supported. Even routing options are available, alas only 9 routes can be shown due to the structure of the IP header (RFC 792). Why did I write my own ping program? There are two main reasons: a) It wanted to know how the ping program worked. I found it really intriguing and was very curious and b) There was a need for a better ping program here at the lab where I work...

NSNetworkToolsXP

It is now possible to cause certain PC configurations to 'Wake Up' (power on) when they receive a special packet. This "Magic packet" is generated using the IP, Subnet and MAC address of the remote computer. By sending this special packet to a dormant computer that remote computer can be caused to "Wake Up" (Boot itself up). The machine's processes, services, events, print queues, etc. can then be managed. See what hardware is installed...

Network Ping

You may check communication with computer or look up if a host is online by executing a ping command. Windows does not provide graphical utility to do that, but has a command line tool. This software works just like command line ping.exe but has a configurable parameters screen and a nice graphical output. You may preset TTL - time to live of the ICMP packet to be sent, the size of the ICMP packet to send, number of ping requests, host name resolution, packet size. The software can run both using ICMP or WinSock. You may export ping resulat or print them out right from Network Ping...

TNCTERM 2.17 by Wraptech Limited- Software Download

TNCTERM is a packet terminal program that enables text to be sent and received over a packet radio link. It uses the serial port which is set up on initialising the application. The settings cannot be saved. This application is to be used with ham radio packet hardware and will allow messages to be exchanged in chat mode. By using the built-in application, Textcode, binary files may be exchanged. These may be used with packet bulletin boards to send images or software. It can use com ports 1 to 4 and all the common port configurations.TNCTERM incorporates TEXTCODE so binary files may be sent as text. In the file send mode the burst rate is slowed by a timer so that it can keep pace with the slow link of the radio. This is set-up on initialising.A file may be received from a bbs or pms by using the receive fileoption and the file length may be entered. The system may be set to disconnect at the end of the file which it detects. In the chat mode a line of text is entered and the application countsthe number of characters and issues a carriage return line feedat the next space character after a set number of characters a new line is forced. This formatting may be applied to an outgoing or incoming file if desired. ..

Traffic IQ Pro

Traffic IQ Basic is a simple to use testing tool for security and network devices. It has an easy to use windows GUI and contains a library of stateful traffic files including attacks and normal network sessions. These can be replayed to generate stateful network traffic sessions to test network and security devices such as firewalls intrusion detection (IDS) and intrusion prevention (IPS) devices as well as routers and switches. It is ideal for easily generating network traffic when needed and does not require a target system to connect to as it uses two network cards which become "virtual PC's" making it a handy self contained testing tool for a wide range of testing and trouble shooting scenarios...
